News from The Google Earth Blog – The Amazing Things About Google Earth Google Earth Free/Plus License Change: Allowed in Businesses Ed. note: This from Frank Taylor's Google Earth Blog. It appears Google did slip in one more little thing with the Google Earth 4.2 (beta) which I hadn't noticed yet. The new release notes were just posted, and there is a line "Expanded terms of service for Free and Plus products". That's right, Google has finally fixed a problem a lot of people have been complaining about: using the free Google Earth in a business office setting (previously not allowed by the license). Sure enough, when you first go to download Google Earth 4.2, you're presented with new license terms.

Indoor Waterparks: Making a Bigger Splash in North America in ‘07 By David J. Sangree, MAI, CPA, ISHC
By: David J. Sangree, MAI, CPA, ISHC Indoor waterpark resorts have continued to expand throughout North America with 95 open facilities in the United States and an additional 13 open facilities in Canada as of July, 2007. There are 3,643,100 aquatic square feet and 27,230 hotel rooms associated with indoor waterparks as of July, 2007. This family-oriented resort segment has established itself as a viable segment of the travel industry and has expanded well beyond its original Wisconsin base. By the end of 2007, 24 states and five provinces will have at least one indoor waterpark resort. The number of indoor waterparks has grown significantly since their inception in the early 1980s, while the average number of hotel rooms attached to these waterparks has also increased substantially over the years. Between 1994 and 2006 in the United States and Canada, 97 indoor waterpark resorts opened either as new construction properties or as additions to existing hotels. The following table shows the number of hotel rooms and square feet of indoor waterparks that opened in the U.S. and Canada from 1983 to 2006.

Data Standards and Service Standards: Helping Businesses in Real Estate, Mortgage Appraisal, and Related Industries Function More Efficiently Author: John Cirincione and Sam Bacharach Abstract: Much work is being accomplished globally in
many industries to standardize data and online services. Benefits of
standards include decreased operational costs, increased employee and
workplace productivity, improved accuracy, more open exchange of information,
increased flexibility, reduced risk, and more real-time transactions. This
article discusses the standardization efforts of four standards bodies
working on information technology standards to benefit the real estate market
and related markets such as mortgage, property valuation, architecture,
engineering and construction markets. These standards bodies are the
Appraisal Institute, Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization,
Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate, and the Open Geospatial
Consortium. The article also addresses each organization’s
interoperability focus, some of key areas of collaboration, and where they
see convergence occurring. Start Page: 125, End Page: 138, Volume: 15,
